Well well.. Okay, so everything's going to plan. Kudos to Melodie for getting everything typed out like that. Anyway, yes, all committee heads, please quickly recruit people into ur committees and submit the names either to Melodie or myself. So far, only Edwin has given the names of his committee to me. Really fast. Hahas.

I guess I really don't have much else to say now. Oh, and was wondering if we could get Tim Rodrigues to be our emcee. He could do his powerful "LADIES N GENTLEMEN!!" thing again. *grinz* Just a thought. Whaddaya guys think?

Another thing is, before I take this up to the various Directors, I'm gonna need to be prepared with a proposal.. So now, open to anyone by voting, it'd really be good if we'd start thinking about what kind of concert we wanna have. What the theme should be, the general genre of the concert, so that at least people will know what kinda songs they'll expect to hear. For example, do we wanna hold a rock concert? Or more of those slow songs? English or Chinese? *Hmm.. actually can mix both english and chinese..* But whichever.. All can start discussing. Sooner we reach a decision, the better, yea?

Okie dokes. Shan't drone on here. Hehs. I guess our blog has become our notice board, so any updates, I'll just post it here. Those who do read the announcements, can just spread the words to the rest of the Mahts, k?

Venue: SP Auditorium or somewhere in SP (tentative)
Date: Saturday, 20 August (tentative)
Time: Evening (7pm+)
Ticket Price: $6 - to cover for our costs (tentative)

-Appointments-

Advisors: Michael, Timothy & Georgina

Chairman(s) (name speaks for itself): Ian & Melodie

Supervisor (makes sure everything goes on as planned): Carmen

Logistics (makes sure performers have their INSTRUMENTS & equipments): Nicholas

Welfare/attendance (food! ouch, tummyache, headache, cannot make it for rehearsals..): Yanxi

Wardrobe (open her up and that's where you find the latest fashion): Ling Er

Treasurers ($$ matters): Candice n Kaiwen

Ticketing: Kaiwen (easier to work with a treasurer)

Publicity (advert, flyers): Edwin

Ushers: For this we need external help. From SPSU probably. Cos' we can't be ushering and performing.

Performers I/Cs (to oversee the performances): Adam and Melodie

Aim: To complete 7hrs of CIP work and collaborate this project with our Performance Module's 'public performance'.

Pre-production:

-> Get approval from:

1) Deputy Director of DMAT, Mr Quek Chee Siong

2) Director of School of ICT, Mr Song Nay Hay

3) Principal (by word of MOUTH)

4) Corporate Communications

5) Student Affairs <- get help frm em'

-> Get sponsors (Carm, you know what to do about this right? Please guide us.)

-> Book Auditorium (or whatever venue we're using).

-> Look for an Organisation to aid.

-> SEND everything.(redundant)
FORTUNATELY, THIS WILL BE DONE BY Carm, Ian n myself.

-> Preparation for PERFORMANCES:
- Everyone is involved n MUST do at least an item that lasts for at least 3mins(strictly).
- You CAN do in grps. Pop style. Get ur own drummers n stuff. But please be presentable.
- I'm sure Michael will guide us more on THESE.

-> Preparation for Rehearsals:
- Well.. From experience speaking, rehearsals will be a big headache. at least 3 full-runs. With costumes n music n all.
- PLEASE be prepared to stay back late.
- PLEASE also prepare ur pieces back home(solo)/elsewhere(grp). We meet to run thru, not practice music. IMPROVISE yay..
- Don't stress out. whee.. COOL^^(bani)

-> Preparation for Concert:

- Tickets: we need to print, which means $$$ gotta come in. So, i was thinking if we can get sponsors, it'll be good. hmmm.. (carmen?)

- Ushers: problem with this is our own DMATians cannot do this. Our main job is to do music n audio. yupp. so external help is needed!! yay..

- We will have 2 full runs in some big area(we'll have to look for somewhr in the sch), 1 full-run n 1 tech-run on concert morning. Uh.. u all know what r runs right? yay.

- Schedule for rehearsals will come out only after all admin matters r settled.

its really awkward how SP manages our course.. Changing everyone back n forth in the class... The timetable goes chaotic and we all got pissed.. Dun that juz suxxx? I really wonder wassup with SP.. With the dumb IDEA module, the boring talks and stuff, it aint supposed to happen this way. So many pple were complaining that the IDEA module is nonsense, since they sell our ideas, then the developers profit, not us. One good example known to us so far was the Maggi Mee franchise. The real makers from SP were not acknowledged at all. They were only given a little cash (duno how much) for it.

Now I'm not trying to make everyone rebel against the IDEA module or something, but it's about the way they do it. It pisses me off. The original makers should at least be paid for every product made (just like George Lucas with Star Wars; or Bill Gates with Microsoft).. At least we the makers as well as the developers benefit and go home happy. Aint that better? But obviously the developers kiasu and want to keep the $ for themselves.. Haix.. Selfishness in the economy is a big sin..

P.s: all these are just personal opinions, dun take it to heart...

ICT Club Reunion-cum-Outing

Read the following post on the SP ICT Club Forum ICT Club Reunion-cum-Outing on 4th June 2005

I was thinking that it would be a good time for us DMAT people to go for this event (whether or not you have gone for the ICT F.O. Camp, for ALL freshies, campers and non-campers). It would be a chance for us to get to know one another better. Maybe like we can treat it as an outing. Yup will be informing you all thru word-of-mouth as well - and I'll see how the response is like. (I'll be going by the way.) So if you're free on the 4th of June, do come for this event. A fee of $5.00 will be collected for interested parties. The registration booth will be open from 10am - 2pm daily outside Foodcourt 6 (lift area). Registration will end on the 3rd of June 2005 (Thursday) - yup so if you're going inform me that you're going as well. Thanks and see you there!

P.S. I have heard a few of you cannot make it. How about the rest? (Will be publicising it in class as well.)

uhm. we all met up at Dover station at 8.45am then made our way into the SP. Upon reaching, all the DMATians went to T2044 to watch our fellow DMATians rehearse. haha. Unfortunely, we got chased out by Michael. -.-

Mel n Carm went to play games while the others stayed in T2044 to jam n stuff.

All went home at 12 noon.
